TL;DR
- Progress: The urethane foam and filler had fully dried after a few days. No more moisture seeping through, so I finally put the wallpaper on.
- The wallpaper: I used Daiso’s “repair wallpaper.” The color doesn’t match the original exactly, but it covers the patch cleanly, and that’s enough.
- Current state: Stays dry most days, but a tiny bit of condensation still shows up above the repair on nights that drop below freezing. Compared to before, this is a solid improvement.
After a Few Days of Waiting
Cutting into the wall, spraying foam, applying filler โ it was a long process. The most important part was letting it fully dry, so I waited a few days before touching anything else. No moisture came back, and it was time to finally deal with the way it looked.

Finally, the Wallpaper
Once the repair was fully dry, I watched it for a few more days. No moisture seeping through, no pooling โ the underlying fix had held.
Next was covering up what was left of the patch. It wasn’t a big enough job to call in a professional, so I made a trip to the nearest Daiso.
The corner looks clean now with Daiso's repair wallpaper. Not bad for DIY.
The color’s a bit off from the original mint green, but it gives a sort of two-tone look and, more importantly, it’s clean. Self-adhesive, so it was easy to apply.
A Few More Nights Later: Not Perfect, but Good Enough
I went through a few more cold nights after putting the wallpaper up. Every morning, I checked the repaired spot first.
[!NOTE] Status at the time
- Repaired area: The section filled with urethane foam stays dry.
- Upper edge: Fine on normal days, but a small amount of condensation forms just above the repair when the temperature drops sharply overnight.
- Improvement: Nowhere near soaked like before. Just a light film that clears up with some ventilation.
It felt like the cold air was routing around the repaired spot and moving further up, but compared to before, it was a clear improvement. Short of tearing out the whole wall, I probably won’t get a perfect fix โ but this was enough to get through that winter without worrying.
Five Months Later (July 2026 Update)
It’s holding up well. Condensation hasn’t come back. That said, I won’t really know for sure until I get through another full winter โ it’ll take a night as cold as last winter’s to properly test it again.
The Daiso repair wallpaper is still holding up five months in โ no lifting, no fading. Not bad durability for a self-adhesive patch.
If you’re dealing with condensation, my advice is to check with your management office first โ whether the spot falls under common-area or unit-owner repair โ and bring in a professional if the situation calls for it. I went ahead and opened the wall myself, but not every case will end with a DIY fix.
